Shirley MacLaine | Born 1934

Of all movies that have withstood the tyranny of time, perhaps none has stood out like Shirley MacLaine’s films. Having starred in several movies throughout her 40-year career in the industry, her performances have always been iconic and award-winning. It is worth noting that she has established her career in TV and broadway outside of the film.

MacLaine’s degree of versatility allowed her to portray myriad roles such as a small-town girl, an escort, a president’s wife, an instrumentalist, and a fashion guru, among others. She also takes credit for publishing over 12 books and directing different documentaries. However, MacLaine was recently bridled in criticism for indulging in new-age beliefs and showing her interest in the paranormal. Anyhow, she is still the headstrong and eccentric woman we all used to love.
