In her native Chicago, Mitzi Gaynor was led to the path of prominence that she was destined to conquer. She was born to a virtuoso musician father and talented dancer mother. Madame Kathryn Etienne, an acclaimed ballerina instructor, had known that Gaynor’s fate was greatness from an early age. She started her decades-long career at the age of 13 as a featured performer in the corps de ballet in the Los Angeles Civic Light Opera.

She participated in the productions of Naughty Marietta, Songs Without Words, The Great Waltz, Roberta, and Jollyana. Aside from theatrical plays, Gaynor also starred in notable film credits like The Birds and the Bees, There’s No Business Like Show Business, and South Pacific. The actress is one of the surviving stars from the Golden Age of Hollywood.
