Giorgio Armani is an Italian fashion designer who first gained prominence after working for Cerruti, Allegri, Hilton, Bagutta, and many others. In 1957, he found a job at La Rinascente, a department store in Milan, where he became a seller for the menswear department. There, he gained valuable experience in the fashion industry’s marketing aspect. Eventually, Armani became a sought-after designer in the following decade since he moved to the Nino Cerruti company.

As the fashion designer’s career began to prosper, Armani had several exclusive collaborations with other fashion labels. After the runway shows at the Sala Bianca in the Pitti Palace in Florence, the international press at the time was quick to acknowledge Armani’s importance and contribution. He’s also received credit for pioneering red-carpet fashion.
