Russell Crowe | Born 1964

Aside from being a brilliant actor, Russell Crowe thrived in the entertainment industry as a producer and a musician. As an actor, he is most remembered for his critically-acclaimed performance in the historical drama film Gladiator back in 2000; Crowe became the recipient of an Academy Award for his portrayal of Maximus. He started his acting career at a relatively young age and left New Zealand to pursue his passion. He auditioned for minor TV roles in the said country and eventually made it to the big screen.

Besides his breakthrough role in Gladiator, Crowe takes credit in other films such as A Beautiful Mind and American Gangster, among others. As a singer, the actor portrayed Javert in the musical Les Miserables.
