Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone First Edition: $6,500

At this point, most of us are probably aware of the Harry Potter series. It came from the wonderful mind of J.K. Rowling, and the first book of the series, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, was published back in 1997. With its myriad of themes and cultural references, the fantasy series easily captured the attention of both adults and children alike.

Since its initial release, the series has sold at least 500 million copies worldwide. It has been credited for being the best-selling book series ever, and the first edition of the US version of the first book is valued at up to $6,500 today. If you get your hands on a signed copy, the value could sky-rocket to $15,000.
