Billy Connolly | Born 1942
The “Big Yin” earned his degree for his comedic performances, several films, and decades of charitable activity.
Billy Connolly had a long and illustrious career in the United Kingdom before briefly breaking into the American market and settling into a successful career as a character actor. He discovered his talent for humor while pursuing a career as a folk musician. He even had a number one record in the United Kingdom, just as his comedy career began. Connolly began playing jobs in TV and film projects in the late 1970s. Due to his continuous struggle with a health issue, the Scottish legend announced in March 2020 that he would be retiring from live performing. He claimed that his brain now “functions differently,” making it impossible to perform stand-up comedy.
