John Astin | Born 1930

John Astin has always excelled in math and science, just like physicist father. In fact, he was on his way to getting his science degree. However, after attending a production of Our Town, Astin’s plans changed. He still went on to finish college at Johns Hopkins University with a diploma in arts and sciences instead. Afterward, he went on to ply his trade until he made an appearance in Major Barbara.

But it was his portrayal of Gomez Addams that made him memorable to the audience. Although the TV show, The Addams Family, was short-lived, it made Astin a household name. He went on to make appearances in shows like The Partridge Family, Love, American Style, and Night Court. He is very much alive today and still kicking it.
