Paul Hogan | Born 1939

Paul Hogan first appeared on the Australian TV talent show New Faces, aired on the Nine Network. For his natural comedic performances on the show, he was spotted by the host of the network’s news magazine program A Current Affair, Mike Willesee, who eventually offered Hogan regular appearances on the series. Around this time, he befriended John Cornell, producer of the news magazine program, who later became his manager and business partner and financial advisor, perhaps.

As he furthered his career, Hogan produced and wrote his own sketch program, The Paul Hogan Show, which became popular in the UK and South Africa, winning the TV Week Logie Award for Best New Talent in 1973. Among the honors that he received included Australian of the Year, Order of Australia, a Golden Globe Award, and others. His last film was The Very Excellent Mr. Dundee in 2020.
