Connolly began playing jobs in TV and film projects in the late 1970s. Due to his continuous struggle with a health issue, the Scottish legend announced in March 2020 that he would be retiring from live performing. He claimed that his brain now “functions differently,” making it impossible to perform stand-up comedy.
