Lily Tomlin career in Hollywood started in 1969 and is still ongoing today. From her time in Laugh-In to her recent work in Grace and Frankie, she sure knows how to keep her audience laughing no matter what their age is. Tomlin found her calling as an entertainer for someone who started studying to become a nurse. Though she did not finish getting a degree, she found herself excelling as an actor over the years.

Though Tomlin was known for her comedic characters, many were surprised when she took on a heavier role in Nashville. It was not surprising that she got nominated for an Oscar. Today, the actress is still happy with her work though she did not see it as successful. For her, it was enough to know that she had added something enjoyable in the world that made her happy with her work.
